Manama: An expatriate who sold drugs through the shop where he worked was sentenced to five years in prison. The incident took place in Jufair, Bahrain. The expatriate who was working in a cold storage that sells bread, milk and chocolate was arrested.

He was selling crystal meth. The police conducted an investigation based on the information that drugs were being secretly sold to the customers coming to the shop. The disguised police officer came to the shop pretending to be a customer and inquired if he could get drugs. At the end of the conversation, he agreed to give drugs for 50 dinars. He was arrested after handing over the drugs.

The case was tried at the Bahrain High Criminal Court. During interrogation, he told the prosecution that he sold drugs to earn money as the salary he was getting for working at the shop was very low. He also said that his friends and some customers who came to the shop had bought intoxicants. During interrogation, he said that he only wanted to make some money and regretted what he had done. But when he was produced in court the other day, he changed his statement. After the hearing, the court sentenced him to five years in prison.
