Shine Tom Chacko’s 100th film. More than that, the feature of Vivekanandan’s film Viral is that the little boy who came as an assistant director in Kamal’s film years ago is acting as the main character in his film. Shine, Swasika and Grace Antony are playing the lead roles in the film, Manorama shares details with Online.

“I was happy and satisfied when Kamal sir appointed me as assistant director who had no experience. It is lucky for a child who has completed Plus Two. Acting in Kamal sir’s film today is like coming back to the place where he grew up. Comfort zone is always important in cinema. We cannot open our mouths in an unfamiliar place. I have seen a lot of good actors who came from theater and struggled in films. There is the trick of showing the audience that he is acting well through many shots. It doesn’t matter if a person who doesn’t know that comes and does a great performance. Because the balance of the shot taken today is sometimes taken tomorrow.

So learning the technique is important. We can fully trust sir when we come back to the place where we grew up. Because I have seen how Sir creates a character and even brings new people into the film by trusting him.” – Says Shine Tom.

Bhavana was not interested in doing the role

Kamal – You can tell if someone can do a character by watching them. None of the people chosen that way have ever been bad. Often, even after getting the correct look, it is difficult to portray that person. But it is good when the final result comes

Bhavana came to audition to be the heroine of the film ‘Nammal’. Talking non-stop. But the main character in the film should not talk a lot and should show an attitude. I realized early on that attitude was unimaginable. Apart from being a director, Bhavana didn’t even know who I was. After a while I called the boy back. He asked if he could come tomorrow. At that time, Bhavana was studying for Plus Two. The next day some photos were taken and the make-up man was called to do the make-up for Parimalam’s character. She wasn’t that interested. But Bhavana performed well in the first shot itself. That is how Bhavana is selected.

This is my growth

Swasika – The character I did for myself was the one in Chathur. This character came and was chosen when I felt the need for a change after doing the same type of characters. If people are talking about performance then we can try to change something. But many people said about the costume and the intimate scene. I can’t do anything about it. Many have told me to watch out for dubbing. It has also been said that you should be careful to use your hands and feet unnecessarily while talking. All those things are in mind. Many things are learned. I feel like it’s a growth.

Men are delicate, women are strong

Shine – I was afraid of commitments in life. But what we fear happens in life. The more we try to push it away, the stronger it comes into us. It seems to be a technique of life. Whatever we put into it will happen. Men are worldly. I think women are stronger. If they say no, no. But if men say no, then they want it. I have seen people cry over it. I cry a lot. But no one will be shown. If you want to be angry, you will be angry and if you want to laugh, you will laugh. It doesn’t matter if it shows anything. But generally males don’t show much crying. But there are those who are crying inside without anyone seeing them.

The positions said affected the film and life

Kamal – I have my own politics and views. Being outspoken about it has also affected me personally. But positions will be expressed openly where they should be expressed, and reactions will be given where they should be responded to. He will repent and stand firm. But its consequences have been in personal life and cinema.

Vidya Balan was supposed to act in the movie ‘Amy’. Vidyabalan changed at the last moment. It was I who brought Vidya in front of the camera for the first time through a film called Chakram. After that, even when Vidya became a big actress in Bollywood, we kept talking. When called to do this role, Vidya initially welcomed it. They left before the shooting started. I am a person who believes that there is a politics behind that retreat. Later I was doing that film with Manju.
