nbsp; New York–INA The United Nations warned of the impact of a possible battle in the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen. The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Lise Grande, said in a statement, a copy of which was received by the (INA), that “any military attack or siege on Hodeidah will affect hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.” Grande stressed that “humanitarian organizations rushed to develop an emergency plan.” She added, “In the worst case scenario, the United Nations fears that about 250,000 people could lose everything, including their lives.” Grande warned that “cutting off imports through Hodeidah for any period of time will put the population of Yemen in great danger that cannot be justified.” The United Nations estimates that there are approximately 600,000 civilians living in Hodeidah and nearby areas.
