“It is with dismay that ANAD leaders note the constant decline of democracy and the rule of law in Guinea, characterized by multiple violations of fundamental rights and freedoms recorded in recent months under the CNRD regime.
This decline is characterized in particular by: – Jamming of independent media airwaves. The withdrawal from the Canal+ bouquet of private media which denounce bad governance, authoritarian excesses as well as the unilateral management of the transition. – Illegal and unjustified restriction of access to the internet and social networks. – The general and absolute ban on all demonstrations in public spaces with the exception of movements in support of the CNRD. – The bloody repression of political and social demonstrations with a macabre death toll of 37 Guineans murdered?
ANAD, made up of political parties which essentially work to promote liberal values such as democracy, plurality of opinions, freedom of the press and expression, visited the Groups EVASION, FREQUENCE MEDIAS, DJOMA, HADAFO -MEDIA and N’DIMBA. The leaders of the National Alliance for Alternation and Democracy came to express their unconditional support for professionals in the private press. The very people that the junta is trying to silence at all costs, failing to be able to drag them into its perilous project of confiscation of power, illicit enrichment as well as systematic trampling on the rights and freedoms of citizens.
Visibly satisfied, the professionals of these media welcomed the initiative of the ANAD leaders before committing themselves further to reliable and impartial information in all circumstances. The day ended with visits to the homes of some convalescing Alliance leaders.
