Anastasia & Dimitri: The Model Behind the Cartoon’s Charm

Anastasia Romanova – cartoon heroine “Anastasia”the plot of which is based on the legend of the rescue of the daughter of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II. As a child, Anastasia was a cheerful and carefree Grand Duchess who sincerely loved her grandmother Maria Feodorovna. During the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty in the Catherine Palace, the grandmother gives the heroine a gold pendant with the inscription “See you in Paris” and a music box. After the revolution began, the royal family had to flee, and during the escape, Anastasia hit her head and lost her memory. After this, the girl lived in an orphanage for ten years under the name Anya, keeping only a pendant from her past.

With age, the heroine showed stubbornness, harshness and a desire for independence. After meeting Dmitry and Vladimir, Anastasia went to Paris, faced dangers and gradually became closer to Dmitry. In the capital of France, the heroine was reunited with her grandmother and regained her memories, and in the decisive battle, Anastasia managed to lift the curse from the Romanov family. In the finale, the girl confessed her feelings to Dmitry and went to Russia with him.

Model Anastasia Kulikova reincarnated as the main character of the cartoon. On the other side of the lens is the photographer Eduard Kondrashov.
