The energy transition will still wait in the agricultural world. This Friday, the Prime Minister decided that the tax rebate from which the agricultural sector benefits on the purchase of non-road diesel (NGR) would be maintained. In short: the price paid by farmers for red fuel will not increase, contrary to what was planned. “The truth obliges me to say that on the reform of the GNR, it does not pass,” declared Gabriel Attal, visiting a farm in Montastruc-de-Salies, in Haute-Garonne, even if it was “ accepted and discussed” with a union (the FNSEA).

On the same subject, the head of government also announced administrative simplification. “It’s just common sense: the discount that you requested until now and that you received several months later will be deducted directly from the invoice when you buy RNG at the foot of the invoice. »

“More cash, less paperwork”

A change of calendar which will be done in two stages. First, from next month, the State will pay 50% of the sums normally due to farmers, i.e. 215 million euros, but usually paid several months later. Then, by this summer, the discounts will be directly applied to invoices. “It’s more cash, straight away, less time on paperwork, too,” estimated Gabriel Attal. And this is the guarantee that no farmer will ever again give up support that the State owes them. »

With this announcement, the government returns to the agreement it had negotiated with the FNSEA, the main agricultural union. This agreement provided for a gradual reduction of this tax advantage of 2.8 euro cents per liter of fuel from this year.
