Another obstacle on the way to the nuclear deal: Iran has rejected a US compromise proposal

by time news

Iran has rejected a proposal by the United States to remove the Revolutionary Guards from its list of terrorist organizations, including Quds Force, which is part of it and is responsible for Iranian military activities and the terrorist arm in the region, including the missile and nuclear arsenal, an Iranian diplomat said.

This continued the stalemate over the signing of a return to the nuclear deal, from which the United States withdrew. Removing the Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations was a condition presented by the Iranians at the last minute.

In addition, they claim that the United States has set new conditions, which will not allow Iran to return to the full economic benefits of the agreement. Qulim Suleimani served as commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards until his assassination by the United States in January 2020.

In a speech on the occasion of “Technology Day” in Iran, President Ibrahim Raisi said: “Iran’s message in the talks in Vienna is that we will never give up, even on a pinch of the Iranian people’s nuclear rights.” He reiterated that Iran is developing the nuclear program for peaceful purposes only.
