Indonesia was hit by two powerful earthquakes early this morning.
The earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 50 kilometers under the sea near Sibarut Island at 4.40 am, registered as 6 point 3 on the Richter scale. This was followed by another earthquake at 4.54 in the same area at a depth of 60 km. According to the National Earthquake Research Center, it was recorded as 6 point 1 on the Richter scale.
