A harrowing account emerged in court Monday as the wife of Lt. Col. Mark Teeton detailed the moment she realized the man being attacked near her garden was, in fact, her husband. The incident, involving suspect Anthony Esan, left the family grappling with unimaginable trauma and a future forever marked by the violence.
The ordeal began with cries for help. Mrs. Teeton, while in her garden, rushed to the aid of what she initially believed was a soldier under attack. “I felt a wave of terror,” she recounted, fearing for her own safety as she intervened. She bravely pushed Esan off the victim, only to discover the horrifying truth.

The situation quickly escalated as Mrs. Teeton witnessed a brutal assault. “I watched horrified by his continued savage attack,” she stated. She then realized the victim was her husband, Lt. Col.
