Anti-Hijab Protest; The government imposed the death penalty

The Iranian government continues to take strict measures against those who took part in the Hijab protests in Iran.

A 22-year-old woman named Masha Amni, who went to visit her relatives in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on September 13, was arrested by a special police force that monitors the wearing of hijab, saying that she was not wearing a hijab properly. The woman was brutally assaulted and died tragically on 16th September. His body was not handed over to his parents but was buried by special police forces.

The incident caused a huge stir across the country, leading to massive two-month protests against wearing the hijab and demanding justice for the woman. Sensing the severity of the protests, the Iranian government disbanded a special police unit that monitors the hijab-wearing cause of the woman’s death.

While the protests have subsided, human rights organizations have reported that 488 people have died during the protests. A protester, Mohsen Sehari, was recently hanged for allegedly attacking the police with a knife during the protest.

Meanwhile, another youth named Majithresa Ragnavard who was accused of killing two policemen has also been executed. The incident has shocked human rights activists. Moreover, human rights activists from all over the world are registering their protests against the Iranian government for arresting and executing protestors without proper trial.
