“The people of Armenia can make a decision regarding the adoption of the new Constitution of Armenia by their free will, there is no other option,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in the National Assembly.
He said that they are developing the following thesis: “The Constitution is being changed for the signing of the peace treaty.”
“I want to say that all the problems regarding the signing of the peace treaty have been resolved, because there is an agreed article in the text of the treaty, which states that the parties cannot refer to their own legislation in order to not fulfill any of the obligations assumed by this treaty,” Nikol Pashinyan said. .
According to him, the Constitution, being a fundamental document, is primarily for the organization of internal life, but the Constitution of any country also regulates foreign relations.
“Of course, any Constitution also has external influences, who denies it and why? We constantly talk about Azerbaijan and Turkey, but we have to think about our relations with the outside world in new conditions, because nothing in the world is the same as it was when the current Constitution was adopted,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
He mentioned that Armenia should build all its policies in the logic of its legitimacy and its sovereignty.
