Tax & Pricing Updates rolled Out Across Multiple Regions
Changes affect developers selling apps in Bhutan, Finland, ghana, and more.
- As of January 29, proceeds have been modified in nine countries due to tax changes.
- Mauritius will see pricing updates for apps and in-app purchases beginning February 16,unless developers have designated Mauritius as their base storefront.
- Auto-renewable subscriptions and manually priced items are exempt from these changes.
- Developers can review and adjust pricing within App Store Connect.

Recent Tax Changes Impacting Developer Proceeds
Effective January 29, several regions experienced modifications to tax rates affecting developer proceeds:
- Bhutan: A 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) has been introduced.
- Finland: The value-added tax (VAT) rate for news, magazines, books, and audiobooks has decreased from 14% to 13.5%.
- ghana: The 2019 COVID-19 Health Recovery Levy has been removed.
- Kazakhstan: The VAT rate has increased from 12% to 16%.
- Lithuania: The reduced VAT rate for news, magazines, books, and audiobooks has decreased from 9% to 5%.
