Apple announced a new fourth-generation Apple TV 4K powered by Siri AI and an A19 chip, joining smart home enhancements and updated software features designed to unify family entertainment and device control ahead of store arrivals on November 13, 2026.
Hardware Upgrades and the A19 Chip Performance
The next-generation hardware introduces the A19 chip, which delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than the previous model. That raw power enables faster browsing, smoother animations, and greater responsiveness across tvOS. The silicon also incorporates a dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient streaming while consuming less bandwidth.
Beyond the processor, the device features three far-field microphones with advanced echo cancellation. These microphones intelligently isolate a user’s voice from background sound to maintain crystal-clear wake-word recognition, even during loud media playback. The accompanying Siri Remote retains its familiar design while adding Find My support with Precision Finding and an option to play an audible locating sound.
Siri AI Enables Conversational Content Discovery
Powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence, Siri AI transforms content discovery through a full-screen conversational interface. Viewers can ask detailed follow-up questions while watching media, tapping into broad world knowledge to explore background details.
The new Apple TV 4K is our most immersive home theater experience yet.

When viewers ask contextual questions like Where was Pluribus filmed?
or Is this appropriate for a 15-year-old?
responses appear in a compact overlay that preserves the viewing immersion. Paired with a compatible iPhone, the assistant can also pull personal context to fulfill requests such as Play the show Alinda recommended.
According to BGR reporting, Siri AI will also roll out to second- and third-generation Apple TV 4K hardware later this year.
Surround Sound Integration with HomePod Ecosystem
Audio capabilities expand significantly with support for a four-speaker surround sound configuration. For the first time, users can pair the fourth-generation set-top box with four HomePod mini 2 speakers or matching HomePod units to build an advanced home theater soundscape.
The connected speakers automatically calibrate their position relative to the room, adjusting timing and audio levels without manual intervention.
Smart Home Control and Family Profiles
As a central hub, the hardware streamlines household management. HomeKit Secure Video footage is stored end-to-end encrypted and never accessible to Apple.
For multi-user households, the platform relies on distinct profiles to keep recommendations accurate across services like Apple Music, Fitness+, and the Apple TV app. Parents can configure custom restrictions through settings or the Control Center.
Apple TV 4K Costs 299 Dollars
The fourth-generation streaming box carries a retail price of $299 in the U.S., with an installment option available at $49.83 per month for six months.
