The American company Apple is preparing to activate artificial intelligence features on its various devices this year, according to what the American “Bloomberg” agency reported.

The agency stated, citing informed sources, that the company is working to develop high-quality chips, similar to those it designed for Mac computers last year, and make them available in cloud computing servers designed to process advanced artificial intelligence tasks that will reach Apple devices.

The first chips for artificial intelligence servers will be the “M2 Ultra” type, which was released last year as part of the “Mac Pro” and “Mac Studio” computers. Apple is already planning to launch future versions based on the M4 processor, according to Bloomberg.

Simple artificial intelligence features are expected to be available directly on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices, according to sources who requested anonymity because the plan is still under development.

According to the agency, this step came as part of plans to launch the “iOS 18” operating system next fall, as the relatively simple tasks of artificial intelligence in current devices will include providing a summary of missed notifications or incoming text messages.

But some of these features will also require the latest Apple chips, such as the “A18” chip that was launched in the “iPhone” last year and the “M4” chip that debuted in the “iPad Pro” earlier this week, according to the agency.

Regarding more complex tasks, such as creating images or summarizing long news articles and creating long responses in emails, in addition to likely updating the voice assistant “Siri”, according to “Bloomberg”, it will depend on the approach based on developing cloud computing chips.

According to the agency, “Apple” is working to upgrade its production line by using more powerful electronic chips, such as the next generation “M4” processor, to be integrated into its full range of “Mac” devices.

This step comes within Apple’s increasing strategy towards generative artificial intelligence, as it seeks to compete with leading technology companies in this field, according to “Bloomberg”, as “Apple” is scheduled to reveal its ambitious strategy for artificial intelligence at the World Developers Conference scheduled to be held on June 10.
