According to “MacRumors”, Apple is currently preparing to rebrand Apple ID and plans to rename it “Apple Account”. Foreign media quoted news that Apple is testing this reform and will launch it as soon as this year.

Apple has launched Apple ID for many years. Now Apple ID has developed very maturely. Users can use Apple ID to log in to iCloud, App Store and other services across devices, use iCloud to wirelessly synchronize data across devices, and download different applications in the App Store. “MacRumors” expects the Apple ID rebranding work to be completed within 2024 and released simultaneously with iOS 18 and macOS 15.

There is no news yet as to why Apple is making this change, but Apple usually prepares multiple names before launching new products or services. For example, Vision Pro’s operating system visionOS had three different names internally before its launch, including ” realityOS”, “xrOS” and “visionOS”. Therefore, even if this reform is indeed underway within Apple, the name of the product eventually launched on the market may not be “Apple Account.”
