Apple Working on Overhaul of Iconic Mac Mini

Apple is reportedly planning a significant overhaul of the iconic Mac mini computer. After remaining largely unchanged since 2010, the compact desktop is set to receive a new look and feel in 2024, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Current: Classic Design, New Interior
The new Mac mini is expected to feature Apple’s new M4 chip, previously seen only in the iPad Pro M4. This would mark the first major Mac mini redesign since the Steve Jobs era. The update will also include a new aluminum chassis.
The report notes that some observers were surprised by the similarities between the recent Mac Studio and the older Mac mini design. This suggests Apple may be keen to avoid a complete departure from the familiar form factor.
Production to Commence, Availability in October?
The new Mac mini is rumored to be incredibly small, approaching the size of an Apple TV. It will still be housed in an aluminum casing and feature at least three USB-C ports, a power connection, and an HDMI port.
Two SoC variants are expected: an M4 and an M4 Pro. Mass production is reportedly underway, with a potential release date in October.
