Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, announced that the proposal of the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, regarding imposing a tax on the sale of foreign exchange will be presented to the House of Representatives for approval “after ensuring that it is in the interest of the citizen and the economy,” he said.

Saleh also considered, in a statement to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the House of Representatives to be empowered in this regard as it possesses “legislative and executive powers in accordance with the Constitutional Declaration,” according to him.

Regarding the political file, Saleh believed that the solution to the crisis lies in the formation of a new unified government that ends the current power struggle between the two unity governments headed by Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba and the one appointed by Parliament, headed by Osama Hammad, with the aim of holding the postponed elections, according to him.

Saleh attacked Al-Dabaiba, describing him as wanting the situation to remain as it is, and that his adherence to power had led the country to its current state of political division and administrative and financial corruption.

Saleh reiterated his refusal to accept Dabaiba’s presence at Batelli’s proposal (the five-party table) unless Hammad was invited in return.

He also ruled out that the political blockage would be a cause for the outbreak of war or a military clash, attributing this to “citizens’ attention to the goal of such clashes being the continuation of division and chaos.” To bring Libya into a failed state controlled by foreigners.”
