Arab Cycling Championship: Moroccan Al Korji wins individual time trial race

According to a press release from the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation, Al Korji covered the 31 km of the event in 39 min 6.52, ahead of the Algerian Azzeddine Laagab by 9 seconds and the Emirati Abdellah El Hamd by 21 seconds, as well as the another Moroccan Adil Al Arbaoui (53 seconds).

This victory brings the Moroccan harvest to five medals, two gold, one silver and two bronze.

Indeed, the Moroccans Mehdi Arbaoui (juniors) and Salima Hariri (U23) won the bronze medal in the time trial race on Tuesday. On Monday, the Moroccan senior national team won the gold medal in the team time trial.

The Moroccan team, made up of Achraf Ed-doghmi, Mohcine Al Korji, Adil Al Arbaoui and El-Houssine Sebbahi, covered the 62 km of the event in 1h 12 min 41 sec, surpassing the Emirati selections (1:13.13 ) and Algerian (1:15.50).

The junior selection won the silver medal on Sunday, covering the 54 km of the event in 1:08.55, behind the Iraqi selection (1:08.41) and in front of the Algerian team (1:09.28).

It was composed of Achraf Karimi, Mehdi Arbaoui, Saad Aid Akbour and Yahya Bourkila.

The national cycling team (men and women) is participating, alongside teams from 11 Arab countries, in this championship, scheduled for December 16 to 23 in the Saudi capital.

More than 400 cyclists, representing Morocco, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Bahrain, Libya, Algeria, Qatar, Iraq, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, compete in of this championship, organized in cooperation with the Arab Cycling Federation under the aegis of the International Cycling Union, in team time trials, individual time trials and individual races.
