Arc Raiders Announces Price Cuts, Refunds, and Major Update Launching November 13

A significant shift in policy and a substantial content drop are headed to the popular extraction shooter, Arc Raiders, as developer Embark Studios responds to player feedback and prepares for its first major update. The studio announced it will be lowering prices on in-game cosmetic items and automatically refunding players who purchased them at the previous, higher cost.
Embark Studios acknowledged the community’s concerns in an update posted to the official Arc Raiders website, stating they have “reviewed our prices and made adjustments to lower prices where applicable.” The revised pricing structure goes live tomorrow, November 13, at 1:30 AM PT / 4:30 AM ET / 9:30 AM GMT. Players who previously purchased cosmetics will receive a refund in Raider Tokens automatically within the coming week.
While the exact extent of the price reductions remains undisclosed, the move addresses complaints that premium skins were prohibitively expensive, with some players arguing they cost “half [the] price of the game” itself.
Duo Matchmaking Now Live
Beyond the pricing adjustments, Embark Studios confirmed the implementation of duo prioritized matchmaking, which has been in silent testing. The system, enabled earlier this week, prioritizes grouping players into duos, trios, and squads separately. “Duo matchmaking will work like this: first, we prioritize Solos and Squads to play separately. After that, we prioritize Duos to play with other Duos, and for Trios to play with Trios,” the team explained. They cautioned that the system isn’t foolproof, and players may occasionally encounter mixed team compositions.
The game’s progression system is also undergoing changes with the introduction of both free and premium Raider Decks. While gameplay items will remain exclusive to the free decks, Embark Studios clarified that new Raiders will receive gameplay items within the free deck through progression. The studio emphasized that premium decks will focus on “cosmetics and convenience,” with a firm commitment that “there are no pay-to-win items in the premium Raider Decks.”
North Line Update Arrives Tomorrow
The changes coincide with the launch of Arc Raiders’ first major update, North Line, also scheduled for November 13. This update introduces Stella Montis, a new region located north of the Rust Belt, described as “cold, pristine, and filled with the remnants of humanity’s lost ambitions.” North Line will also feature a new community unlock event, two new ARCs – Matriarch and Shredder – alongside new weapons, playstyles, and quests. A subsequent update, Cold Snap, is slated for release in December.
Arc Raiders has garnered critical acclaim, with IGN awarding the game an “Amazing” 9/10 score, praising its “incredibly gripping progression grind, tense fights against NPCs and other players that make for memorable matches, and loot that feels completely worth all the work and stress it takes to obtain it.”
The game’s commercial success is equally impressive, having sold over 4 million copies worldwide in less than two weeks since its release. Nexon also reported a peak concurrent player count of 700,000 across all platforms.
For players considering diving into Arc Raiders, resources are available to optimize their experience, including guides on the best settings, recommended initial skill unlocks, and strategies for earning loot through field depot crate deliveries.
