Silver coins are the second sensational find made in Augsburg in recent years. In June, more than 400 kg of ancient Roman artifacts were found at the same construction site: 800 well-preserved coins, weapons, tools, jewelry and this oil lamp depicting the Roman god of the Sun. The find confirms that there was a Roman military camp here – the oldest in the territory of present-day Bavaria.
