More than 280 thousand people took the Higher Education Access Test (PAES) 2023, to be part of the Admission process to Higher Education 2024. This January 2, the results of the exam will be known and applications will begin. As a way to support the thousands of students who will participate in this process, the Catholic University will host the UC Orientation and Application Fair at its Headquarters.

At the beginning of 2023, nine thousand people visited the last edition of the fair and nearly two thousand sought support through social networks and by telephone. The UC Orientation and Application Fairfor the previous admission, was key in the midst of a process that was presented as one of the most complex in recent years.

This year, the UC will once again seek to directly accompany and support the students who graduate from high school in the country and who must make an academic decision. The UC Orientation and Application Fair, in its in-person modality, will operate between January 2 and 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Casa Central campus, located at Av. Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins 340, Santiago.

Studying at a university is much more than attending classes and taking tests or handing in assignments. It is finding a space for comprehensive training and socialization that allows them to become the professional they dream of becoming. That is why, for three days we will have the doors of the Headquarters open to receive applicants who have questions about careers, financing and development opportunities that the UC can offer them.“, comments the director of Admission and Student Financing, Juan Echeverria.

The fair will have three large spaces: the first, located in the Juan Pablo II patio (behind the staircase located at the main entrance to the building) will offer the information service on admission and the different ways to enter the UCalso about the financing options –free, credits and scholarships– through a specialized service desk.

Following this space, towards the south, will be located the stands of the 68 undergraduate courses offered by the university and which will be attended by students from the same academic programs. Finally, by 2024, a new service sector will be added in the courtyard of the Faculty of Law, which will house representatives of UC services, such as the Directorate of Student Affairs (DAE), Pastoral, Internationalization, Directorate of Inclusion and UC Warehouseamong others.

Talk programming

Added to the above is an offer of four daily talks on careers and UC services, where applicants will be able to learn more about the academic programs offered by the university. Within the programming, there are career talks that attract great interest from visitors every year, such as Law, Medicine or Engineering, among others.

Also, they will be able to attend exhibitions that will help them optimize their application to the UC, as well as learn about financing alternatives that the university offers, among other topics.

Finally, visitors will have the opportunity to make guided tours for him UC Extension Center, to learn about part of the cultural exhibitions offered by the university. These visits will take place each day of the event, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
