Argentina, Egypt interested in buying Tejas fighter jets from India

New Delhi: Ananthakrishnan, chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, has said that Argentina and Egypt are interested in buying Tejas fighter jets from India.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited manufactures the Tejas light combat aircraft, a single-engine, multi-purpose aircraft. Similarly, another famous product of this company is INS Vikrant fighter aircraft. These aircraft were showcased at the Bangalore Space Expo.

Defense Ministers and senior officials from various countries attended the exhibition. In this case, Ananthakrishnan, Chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, said that Argentina and Egypt have shown interest in buying Tejas fighter jets. Mentioning that Argentina is interested in buying 15 Tejas fighter jets and Egypt 20 Tejas fighter jets, he said that teams from both countries have flown and tested the aircraft.

In addition, Ananthakrishnan said that Egypt has requested India to provide training for the operation and maintenance of these aircraft in their country, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has expressed its desire to do so. He said that not only these two countries, USA, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines are also interested in buying Tejas fighter jets.
