Argentina: Pope Francis sent a rosary to Javier Milei, president-elect

Javier Milei, a libertarian economist, won on November 19, in the second electoral round, over the candidate Sergio Massa, who represented the continuity of the current government, with a Kirchnerist orientation.

While Massa proposed a model based on a State present and intervening in the country’s economic growth, Milei obtained the majority of votes with proposals such as eliminating taxes, removing subsidies and promoting the free market, reducing the presence of the State to a minimum.

The new president of the Nation will take office on December 10.
