Armen Ashotyan’s lawyers submitted a petition to the court so that Galina Harutyunyan, the former chairperson of the Administrative Committee of the Medical University, stopped participating as the victim’s legal representative.

At the regular trial in Armen Ashotyan’s case, Ashotyan’s lawyer, Ruben Melikyan, clarified that the participation should be stopped on the basis that he, like all other members of the YSUBU trade union, stopped their participation in that organization.

“What we are saying is that, as of now, we are dealing with a non-existent entity in terms of criminal-judicial status, the legislator simply did not provide for a non-existent entity to have a judicial status. Let me give an example: a dead person cannot be recognized as either a victim or an accused,” he said.

According to Melikyan, the said organization has never officially declared either about its liquidation process or that anyone owes it.

He mentioned that Galina Harutyunyan held the position until 2013, that is, before the liquidation in 2017, she was released from her position, so she cannot be a victim, especially since no one from that organization applied to recognize her as a victim. give status.
