Armenia and Botswana established diplomatic relations

The Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Botswana established diplomatic relations.

According to “Armenpress”, on December 14 in Yerevan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Botswana Foreign Minister Lemogang Kwape signed a statement on establishing diplomatic relations.

“Indeed, we are opening a new chapter in our relations. We are formally establishing these relations, at least the diplomatic part. And we hope, thanks to our work, also based on the values ​​we share, to develop our cooperation in various fields, starting from agriculture, to science, education, as well as cooperation on international platforms,” ​​said Ararat Mirzoyan.

Lemogang Kwape is also hopeful for cooperation in various fields. He noted that both countries have a similar past, we have gone through similar situations.

“I hope that new doors will be opened not only for our countries, but also for peoples. Most importantly, we share democratic values, development values. And today’s meeting proves it, as a result of the establishment of diplomatic relations, I expect that our peoples, we, as brothers and sisters, will move forward hand in hand,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Botswana.

He added that the two countries have similarities, they are small states, the economic situations are similar, the number of the population is also close.

Speaking about the areas of partnership, he mentioned that they also had a conversation about diamonds.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Botswana assured that their team is ready to further advance the partnership.
