Within the framework of the 8th Armenian-Russian interregional forum, the meeting of the joint working group on Armenian-Russian interregional cooperation of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation was held today.
Vache Terteryan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia, co-chairman of the working group, welcomed the resumption of the tradition of holding conferences in this format, considering it an important tool for expanding cooperation.
“I am glad that we were able to resume the holding of the Armenian-Russian interregional conferences, which were suspended due to COVID-19. The large participation and activity in today’s round table discussions prove that there is a great interest in this conference and a great potential for cooperation,” said V. Terteryan, emphasizing that tomorrow’s plenary session, with the participation of key officials of the governments of the two countries, will be a new impetus for the implementation of a number of initiatives discussed today.
Co-Chairman of the Russian side, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Volvach, thanked Armenia for the warm reception and great support for the organization of the conference in a short period of time, which indicates the bilateral interest.
D. Volvach noted that Armenia and Russia, as long-term economic and strategic partners, have implemented many joint projects, but there is also great potential for new cooperation both bilaterally and in the EAEU format. According to D. Today’s conference in Volvach will also contribute to the strengthening of Armenian-Russian cooperation.
An agreement was reached to develop a summary document about the already implemented and newly launched joint programs within the framework of the conference.
The plenary session of the conference will take place tomorrow.
