Armenia continues to try to distance itself from Russia.
As Day.Az reported on Thursday, this was stated in a recent report by the US Institute of Military Studies.
It is reported that the most striking example of this is the freezing by official Yerevan of its activities within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
“It appears that Yerevan wants to distance itself from Moscow from a political and security point of view,” the report notes.
In addition, the report mentions that official Moscow began to openly threaten Armenia for this rhetoric.
“Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently said that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is trying to drag the South Caucasus into a geopolitical conflict. S. Lavrov emphasized that N. Pashinyan is on the wrong path,” the report also says.
Let us recall that CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov said in an interview with Izvestia on April 24 that the security threats facing Armenia must be assessed.
