RA Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan did not receive a letter from the Azerbaijani side requesting to stop the construction of the metallurgical plant in Yeraskh.

“The information spread in the press that the Minister of Nature Protection and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan requested to stop the construction of a large metallurgical plant in Yeraskh in a letter addressed to the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, does not correspond to reality.

The Ministry of Environment, represented by Minister Mr. Hakob Simidyan, has not officially received any letter,” said Ani Hakobyan, the spokesperson of the Ministry.

To remind, according to the Azerbaijani media, the government of Azerbaijan demands from Armenia to stop the construction of the metallurgical plant in Yeraskh.

According to Azerbaijani media, the Minister of Nature Protection and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Mukhtar Babaev, sent a corresponding letter to the Minister of Environment of Armenia, Hakob Simidyan.

It should be noted that the factory is being built with American investments. The construction site is shelled almost every day by the Azerbaijani army.
