With the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the International Powerlifting Federation and the Powerlifting Federation of Armenia, the IRON EURASIA-7 international powerlifting tournament was held in Gavar on October 21.

147 athletes from Armenia, India, Islamic Republic of Iran, Georgia participated in the tournament. the tournament was also held online for athletes from Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine and England.

The powerlifting team of Armenia took the first place in the team calculation, scoring 979 points. In second place is the Iranian team with 421 points. The top three was finished by the Georgian team with 173 points.

Armenian athletes became absolute winners in the pull-up exercise with a world record. Artyom Khugoyan set a world record with 302.5 kg and won a gold medal with 179.600 points. Second place is Serob Simonyan (world record: 270 kg, 164.320 points), and the top three is completed by Laber Grigoryan (world record: 265 kg, 156.300 points).

Armenian athletes also showed the best results in the biceps exercise. 110 kg Artyom Khugoyan was declared the winner, setting a world record with 75 kg. Artur Avetisyan took the second place and won the silver medal, who also set a world record (70 kg). Karen Petrosyan became the bronze medalist.

Artyom Khugoyan became the gold medalist in the doubles (lying press + pull-up) exercise. He also set a world record with a result of 497.5 kg. The second place was taken by the representative of Georgia, Teymuraz Absaridze, and the top three was completed by Karlen Antonyan. The latter also set a world record with a result of 377.5 kg.

Artyom Soloyan took the first place in the bench press, setting a world record with 195 kg. Georgian Levan Gorgodze became the silver medalist, and the best three was completed by the representative of Armenia, para-athlete Harutyun Mkhitaryan. The Armenian athlete also set a world record with a result of 145 kg.

Such a tournament was organized for the first time in the world.
