Armenian representatives won two bronze medals at the European Sambo Championship

The European Sambo Championship has started in Haifa, Israel. on the first day of the competition, representatives of Armenia won two bronze medals.

Boris Shatveryan, a member of the Armenian sambo team, 79 kg weight, won a bronze medal, gaining an advantage over the representative of Azerbaijan in a crucial wrestling match. Among the representatives of Armenia, Narek Dallakyan, competing in the 64 kg weight category of sports sambo, also won the bronze medal.

The other representative of Armenia, 98 kg Arsen Khanjian, defeated all competitors and entered the final, where he will compete with the representative of Georgia.

The 2023 European Sambo Championships are being held from April 19-23. Youth, youth, youth and adult teams from more than 20 countries participate in the championship.

On April 19 and 20, mats will be provided to adults. Tigran Kirakosyan (58 kg), Aram Aghajanyan (71 kg), Vahagn Chalyan (88 kg) and Norik Khurshudyan (98+ kg) also went to the competition as part of the senior Armenian sambo team.

The women’s team includes Arpine Mnatsakanyan (50 kg), Varsik Grigoryan (54 kg) and Meline Mamikonian (59 kg).

On April 21, “Romema Arena” football mats will be given to youth, on April 22 to teenagers, and on the last day of the championship, on April 23, to teenagers.

Coaches Vovik Khojayan, Smbat Hovhannisyan, Hayk Avetisyan, referees Martin Mirzoyan and Azat Andryan also left for Israel.
