On March 29-30, the Armenian Sambo 2014 was held at the Vanadzor Regional Chamber of the “Armenia” Sports Union. The men’s championship was attended by about 80 athletes from Yerevan, RA marzes (Ararat, Shirak, Kotayk, Lori, Tavush, Armavir) and Artsakh. This is reported by the official website of the RA Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Tigran Kirakosyan (52 kg, Vanadzor), Maxim Manukyan (57 kg, Gyumri), Artur Sahakyan (62 kg, Spitak), Martin Mirzoyan (68 kg, Artsakh), Vachik Vardanyan (74 kg, Yeghvard) were declared winners according to weight categories. , Mher Karapetyan (82 kg, Central Sports Club of the Army – BCMA), Edik Petrosyan (90 kg, BCMA), Eduard Hakobyan (100 kg, Yerevan), Eduard Davtyan (+100 kg, Artashat).
All the winners and prize-winners were given medals, diplomas and cash prizes.
The results of the championship will finally form the composition of the Armenian sambo men’s team, which will participate in the European sambo championship to be held in Romania from May 15 to 19.
The championship was watched by Arevik Karapetyan, the chief specialist of the department of analysis and implementation of programs of sports complex events of the policy department of the highest achievements in sports of the RA Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
