On July 18, the European Championship for shot put (25 m, 50 m, 300 m) and bench shooting started in the city of Maribor, Slovenia. Armenia is represented by Hrachik Babayan, Christian and Irina Lauer in the rifle form, and Zaven Igityan in the pistol form. The Armenian delegation is headed by the head coach of the Armenian Shooting Federation, Seyran Nikoghosyan.
Around 1,000 athletes from 46 countries participate in the European Championship. 21 Olympic rankings of “Rio-2016” are played in the adult competition. 19-year-old Hrach Babayan and 16-year-old Zaven Igityan will participate in the youth fight. This is reported by the Shooting Federation of Armenia.
Yesterday, on July 21, Irina Lauer participated in the women’s exercise of 50 m, rifle from 3 positions, 3X20 shooting and finished with 546 points in the tournament table of 67 people. In the men’s 50m, rifle prone, 60 shots, Christian Lauer failed to clear the preliminary round barrier and was eliminated.
Tomorrow, on July 23, Hrach Babayan will start the competition in the 50 m rifle from 3 positions. On the same day, Irina Lauer will participate in the women’s 50m, rifle prone position.
