Inongo, 29 avril 2023 (ACP). – Seven alleged perpetrators of the assault and attempted assassination of the Attorney General at the Mai Ndombe Court of Appeal, Willy Ndjoko, were arrested and transferred on Saturday to Makala central prison in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, by the security services.
“The seven defendants, all young boys who were part of a group of uncivilists called “Lokambe social”, perpetrators of several acts of atrocities, vandalism, embezzlement, bullying and insecurity in the town of Inongo , are being prosecuted for criminal association, intentional assault and battery as well as the attempted assassination of Attorney General Willy Ndjoko”, told the CPA, an escort member who requested anonymity.
“They were quoted and denounced by their boss Djoli Mputu Bomeme during his hearing in court in Kinshasa where he was transferred”, he added.
Armed with sticks and machetes, the defendants had on May 16, 2022 made an attempt on the life of Mr. Willy Ndjoko whom they beat copiously in his home around 5:00 a.m. as a settlement of the accounts of the legal actions repressing the perpetrators of the acts. insecurity in the town of Inongo.
The Superior Council of the Judiciary had therefore decided to suspend judicial activities throughout the province of Maï Ndombe, so that justice could be done for the safety of magistrates and lawyers.
