Three BJP IT Executives Arrested for Sexual Assault of IIT Student in Varanasi

In a shocking turn of events, three alleged BJP IT executives have been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a female student of the IIT (PHU-Banaras Hindu University) in Varanasi. The incident, which took place on the night of November 1st, saw the student being forcibly taken away by three men on a motorcycle, who then proceeded to take videos and photographs of her undressing and subjected her to sexual assault.

The accused, identified as Kunal Pandey, Anand alias Abhishek Chauhan, and Saxam Patel were apprehended by the police and have been charged under section 354 of the IPC and the Technology Act. What is particularly alarming is the alleged delay in taking action against the accused, with opposition leaders accusing the ruling BJP of influencing the investigation. Congress leader Ajay Roy has announced plans to protest at PM Modi’s constituency office in Varanasi, citing lack of action by the authorities.

Amidst the outcry, Abhinav Mishra, media coordinator of ABVP organization, has called for the swift filing of a charge sheet and the administration of appropriate punishment. He also emphasized the need for legal action against anyone found to have protected the criminals for two months.

As the incident has sparked concerns over the security of the IIT campus, it is expected that the BHU administration will take measures to ensure the safety of the students. This incident has not only raised questions about the safety of students in educational institutions but has also led to a public outcry over the delay in ensuring justice for the victim.
