Arthur Fils created the feat by winning against Qunetin Halys (7.6, 6-3). At only 18, he qualified for his first semi-final of an ATP tournament.

Arthur Fils, 18 and 163rd in the world, qualified for the first time in his career in the semi-finals of an ATP tournament, dominating (7-6, 6-3) another Frenchman, Quentin Halys (N. 70), at the Open Sud de France, Friday in Montpellier.

On Saturday, the Francilien, who created the surprise by eliminating Richard Gasquet then the Spaniard Roberto Bautista, will face the winner of the match between the Italians Lorenzo Sonego and Jannik Sinner. The latter, 17th player in the world, is the seeded N.2 of the tournament.
