“The integration of ChatGPT does not mean that you can write texts entirely with it,” says Hladik. In general, information technology and technology-related subjects should be more strongly supported, said Hladik. High school graduates should also be able to choose whether they want to complete the written school leaving examination analogue or digitally. Hladik was elected as the new federal school representative on Sunday. He was born on May 12, 2005 in Schwechat (Lower Austria) and is attending a high school diploma class at the HTL Rennweg in Vienna-Landstraße. Like his 18 direct predecessors, he comes from the ÖVP-affiliated student union, which has 27 of 29 seats in the federal student council. This is the legal representation of the 1.1 million students in Austria. Hladik sees gaps in the curriculum. In his opinion, the curricula currently have gaps: questions such as “How do I rent an apartment?”, “What requirements do I need for study grants” or “How do I apply for a job?” would not currently be answered. Among other things, Hladik is calling for a compulsory subject of “Democracy Education” from the second grade of AHS lower school/middle school onwards – this should cover topics such as the state, the legal system, democracy and the role of the EU, and media literacy should be promoted. Another compulsory subject, “Economic and “Financial education” should cover topics such as tax law, rental agreements and dealing with finances for one hour per week in two upper school grades.
