As long as BJP is in power, there is no chance of India-Pak relations: Imran Khan

Islamabad: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that as long as BJP is in power, there is no chance of good relations between India and Pakistan.

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan gave an interview to an English newspaper: The economic benefits that can be achieved if India and Pakistan establish trade with each other will be huge.

But the Kashmir issue was the main obstacle. I think it is possible to solve this problem. But the BJP government is very strict. They have a nationalist stance on issues. I want good relations between Pakistan and India. But it is unlikely to happen when BJP is in power in India.

Relations with India further soured in 2019 when special status for Jammu and Kashmir was revoked. India has repeatedly told Pakistan that it wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan in an environment free of terrorism, hostility and violence.

If I am elected PM again I will try to establish good relations with all neighboring countries of Pakistan including Afghanistan, Iran, China, USA. Actually we need good relations with all countries. This is what Imran said.
