Chathannoor ∙ Kerala Kaumudi Chathannoor correspondent Velamanoor ‘Umail’ Sudhi Velamanoor (45) died in a car fire. The incident took place near Meenad Palamood on the Paravur-Chathannur road at 4.30 pm on Thursday. The police say that the fire broke out as soon as he got out of the car from the house where he is currently living.
A passer-by saw the flames and smoke rising and broke the rear window of the car, but the fire continued. The car doors were locked from the inside. He tried to put out the water but was unsuccessful. By the time the fire brigade arrived from Paravur and extinguished the fire, it was completely burnt.
Under the leadership of Chatannoor ACP B. Gopakumar, police and forensic experts took evidence. The body was sent to the Govt. Medical College Hospital Mortuary. He is the son of Late KP Sukumaran and Sushila Devi. Siblings: Sunitha, Sulatha, Sunil Kumar, Suneesh and Suja.
