Asahi Kuroda & ISSIN Win Okayama Sports Award – KSB News

Okayama Prefecture will be presenting its annual Sports Awards to a variety of athletes and teams for thier achievements in 2025. The winners were selected by local reporters from television and newspaper outlets.

Individual Award Winners:

* Asahi Kuroda: Track and field athlete (Aoyama Gakuin University,Okayama City graduate) – notable for his performance in the Hakone Ekiden and breaking the Japanese student record in the marathon.
* Isshin Hishikawa (Breaking ISSIN): Breaking champion – won “Red Bull BC One” and secured a silver medal at the World Championship.
* Rin Mente: Table tennis player (Sanyo Gakuen High School) – won the Inter-High School Girls Singles title.
* Kyoka okamura: Tennis player – triumphed at the all Japan Championship Women’s Singles.
* Rio Akioka: High jumper (Kurashiki Commercial High School) – excelled at the Inter-High School Girls’ High Jump.

Team Award Winners:

* Kyoyama Junior High School girls’ track and field team: Won the National Junior High School Ekiden for the third consecutive year.
* Ibara High School’s rhythmic gymnastics club: Recognized for outstanding performance.
* Pacific Rim University girls’ judo club: Recognized for outstanding performance.
