Yosuke Asaji Earns LIV Golf spot, Eyes Continued Success on International Stage
Securing a coveted place in the LIV Golf League represents the pinnacle of achievement for players on The International Series, and Japanese golfer Yosuke Asaji is now among the elite few who have realized that dream.
Yosuke Asaji is still processing the reality of joining LIV Golf for the 2026 season, admitting the meaning of the accomplishment may not fully sink in until he steps onto the tee for his first event. Only Asaji and Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent, the 2025 International Series Rankings champion, have directly earned LIV Golf League cards through The International Series this year.
Asaji’s path to this milestone has been nothing short of remarkable. A breakthrough victory at the Moutai Singapore Open propelled him toward a LIV Golf card, which he officially secured just two weeks later at the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment advisers – despite not making the cut at that event.
“It still doesn’t feel real yet,” Asaji confessed. “It’s hard to fully grasp at the moment,but I’ve received so many congratulations. I suppose I’ll understand it better when the time comes.”
The Japanese golfer is already turning his attention to refining his game for the challenges ahead. He plans to dedicate significant practice time to his short game, specifically putting within seven feet, to enhance his overall performance. Additionally, Asaji intends to improve his English language skills to facilitate better communication with fellow players and fans on tour.

Kozuma highlighted the inspiring nature of Asaji’s late-season surge,notably after a difficult period on the Japan Tour. “Towards the end he wasn’t playing well back home, but coming out to these events and performing the way he did really motivated me. I’m thrilled to see him making such a big move in his career.”
Reflecting on his season across The International Series and Asian Tour, Asaji expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the reward his dedication has yielded. “I never expected to earn a spot in LIV Golf, so I feel very blessed. I see this as a reward for giving my best at each tournament,” he stated. “I also plan to continue playing on the Asian Tour and International Series as much as possible next year.”
As he prepares for two remaining tournaments on the Japan Tour before the LIV season opener in riyadh, Asaji intends to maintain the same focused mindset that has driven his success. “I don’t plan to change anything – my focus will be on approaching each tournament with the same mindset and dedication as always,” he explained.
the focus now shifts to the LIV Promotions event, scheduled for January 8-11, 2026, at black Diamond Ranch GC in Florida, where two additional LIV golf spots will be determined. The event will be crucial for many International Series players, with the top 10 available players from the final 2025 International Series Rankings receiving a bye into round two. An additional 25 available players within the top 40, who are not already exempt, will earn entry into round one of the competition.
