Taormina Transit Chief Receives Reimbursement for Industry Meeting
A municipal transport leader in Taormina, Italy, has been authorized for a €626.09 expense reimbursement following participation in a key industry event. The funds cover costs associated with attending an ASSTRA (Transport Association) shareholders’ meeting held in Rome and Palermo from October 7-9, 2025.
The decision, formalized in resolution no. 960/25 dated October 24, 2025, underscores the importance placed on industry engagement by Asm Taormina, the local public transport company. According to the resolution, signed by acting general director Giuseppe Bartorilla, the reimbursement recognizes the necessity of the activity undertaken by the company’s president.
Institutional Participation and Expense Approval
The request for reimbursement was initially submitted on October 23, 2025, by Giuseppe Campagna, president of the Board of Directors of Asm Taormina. The resolution explicitly states the funds are allocated for “carrying out the institutional assignment” at the ASSTRA meeting. ASSTRA serves as the national employers’ association representing Italian local and regional public transport companies, making its shareholders’ meetings crucial for networking and strategic discussions.
“We recognize the need to proceed to liquidate the higher amount for the activity carried out,” a senior official stated, confirming the approval process.
Following the resolution, accounting offices have been directed to issue a payment order to Campagna for the full €626.09 amount. The company also plans to publish the resolution on its website, ensuring transparency regarding public funds.
This move comes as Asm Taormina also focuses on updating its employment and needs plan, signaling a period of strategic review and investment in the local transport infrastructure. The company’s commitment to both industry collaboration and internal development positions it for continued growth within the Italian public transport sector.
