A performance of contemporary dance, music and digital media of immediate composition, entitled “Asplenium*”, will be presented by the contemporary dance groups A priori Dance Co. from Ioannina and Random Magnetic Moments from Thessaloniki on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May, at 9 pm, in the courtyard of the Angry Portrait.

The choreographers-dancers of the two groups Eleonora Ilias (A Priori Dance Co.), Despina Kapoulitsa and Lia Vasdari (Random Magnetic Moments) interact kinetically with the soundscapes of the music composers Dimitris Karageorgou and Andreas Monopoli, and with the digital, visual environment (installation ) of digital media creator Kostis Emmanuelides in present time, forming ephemeral relationships between different -material and immaterial bodies, creating imaginary images and looking forward to the transformation of the courtyard space of the Angry Portrait into an open, performative stage for two evenings.
An instant choreographic synthesis of creators-artists from the fields of dance, music and visual art from three cities in the periphery of the country (Ioannina, Thessaloniki and Corfu), who meet as an extended group for the first time on stage, seeking on the one hand to open the “dialogue” between creators of the contemporary performance process, who live outside of Attica, as well as to expand the proximity of the interactive performance of instant composition with the public of the cities of the region.
“Having the common belief that modern dance is disappearing in the country and dance actions, through the use of modern digital media and sound, are limited to the periphery, we are starting this expanded collaboration from Ioannina, seeking through this initiative to mark the beginning of a new journey-collaboration, in the light of the expanded artistic community and action in our capital cities”, they report about their venture.
Tickets at the entrance cost 10 euros and in advance 8 euros.
