Astronomer Gennady Borisov said that an asteroid, tentatively designated “2023 BU”, is moving towards the Earth. It will be at its minimum distance from the planet on January 26.
According to Borisov, the space object will pass several thousand kilometers from Earth. It does not belong to potentially dangerous, since for this the object must be 150 meters high, and its diameter is about 5 meters.
Residents of the southern hemisphere will be able to observe the asteroid using amateur telescopes.
