October 10th marked another momentous occasion for paraguayan sport as Asunción was selected to host the 2031 Pan American Senior Games. The decision, made at the Remarkable General Assembly of the Pan American Sports Organization in Santiago, Chile, saw Asunción triumph over Río Niterói (Brazil) with a vote of 28 to 24. “This is a historic milestone for national sports,” a senior official stated, emphasizing the significance of hosting the largest multi-sport event in the Americas.
