ASV wesseling Elects New Leadership, Prepares for 40th Anniversary

The ASV wesseling, a cornerstone of the city’s endurance sports scene, has appointed a new board following the conclusion of long-serving chairman Gerd schimanke and managing director Brunke Barelmann’s tenures. The leadership transition occurred at the club’s general meeting, attended by 19 members, marking a new chapter for the four-decade-old organization.

Schimanke and Barelmann both expressed gratitude to the club members and their board colleagues for their years of support and collaborative spirit.Their departure paves the way for fresh perspectives and continued growth for the ASV Wesseling.

Susanne Lehert has been elected as the new chairwoman,expressing her enthusiasm for the role and her commitment to upholding the club’s legacy. “I am very pleased about the trust of the members and am looking forward to the new challenge,” Lehert stated. “The ASV Wesseling has contributed to the sporting image of the city of Wesseling for over four decades, and I will do my best to ensure that it stays that way for the next few years.”

Lehert highlighted the upcoming 40th anniversary celebration in November as a significant milestone for the club. “It will be a marvelous possibility to celebrate together and look back on the many great years and experiences,” she said. “I hope that we can plan many more wonderful activities and events together in the future to further strengthen the cohesion and joy in the club.”
