At least 16 people have died and one million have been affected by the passage of typhoon ‘Doksuri’ through the Philippine archipelago, according to the latest official balance from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The latest data from the NDRRMC raises to 1,029,794 those affected in Luzon, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao, Soccsksargen and Bangsamoro, of which which more than 30,000 have had to leave their homes. In addition, there are 20 missing people and 52 injured.
Regarding agriculture, the storm has affected more than 105,000 farmers and fishermen, with damage to crops and agricultural infrastructure of at least 1,500 million pesos (about 25 million euros). In addition, there is damage to the infrastructure for 4,300 million pesos (71 million euros).
‘Doksuri’ made its first landfall Wednesday morning on several islands in the far north of the Philippines, as well as southern Taiwan.
