It has been 16 days since the trucks of “Spyka” company, with agricultural products requiring special protection conditions, are at the Verin Lars checkpoint, but there is no clear answer and certainty as to why the customs operations are not completed and the cargo is not allowed to be released into the territory of the Russian Federation. The company informed the RA Ministry of Economy about this problem on the first day.

The company “Spyka” reports that since October 14, 2019, the company’s trucks have been standing at the Verin Lars checkpoint, which are not allowed to enter the Russian Federation. One of the trucks contains 20 tons of high-quality expensive blue mold cheese produced in Armenia, and the other contains 18 tons of grapes and 1 ton of blue mold cheese.

The cargo is undergoing customs inspection, in connection with which test samples were taken from the transported cheese on October 14, 2019, and the company, in turn, provided all required and additional documents, including a veterinary certificate, of cheese with blue mold within one day to speed up customs operations. technical conditions of production, technological scheme of production. Videos describing the current production were also provided, as well as Armenian and Russian media reports on the opening of the cheese factory of the “Spyka” company, which was attended by, among others, the RA Prime Minister, members of the Government, ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, the GDR.

Cheese with blue mold is a new product of “Spyka” company, which can be compared with the products of the best European cheesemakers in terms of its technological conditions and quality. The customs service of the Upper Lars checkpoint causes arbitrary obstacles to the company’s presentation and export of Armenian-made cheese on the EAEU market, which puts at risk the implementation of cheese supply contracts to the company’s partners, the effectiveness of investments of about 15 million Euros, the further procurement of milk from Armenian farmers, the status of the EAEU product in the EAEU territory free movement and trade of goods.

The company notes that according to Article 81, Part 1 of the EAEU Customs Code, customs operations on perishable goods are carried out on a priority basis.
