Provincial Hockey Season Nears Climax with Playoff & National Championship Action

A thrilling end to the hockey season is unfolding for the Association of the Center of the Province, highlighted by intense playoff competition and a national championship appearance. The Athletic Club is at the center of the action, vying for titles across multiple divisions while also representing the region on a national stage.

The club’s success this season is underscored by a strong showing in the Clausura Tournament, where teams reached the finals in the Under 14, Under 16, and Under 19 women’s categories. This momentum carries into the current playoff schedule, promising exciting contests for fans.

Men’s & Women’s First Division Playoffs Underway

The first division playoffs are already delivering competitive matches. In Saladillo, the Athletic Club will face El Linqueño, the winner of Zone “B” in the regular phase, this Saturday and Sunday. The competition will progress through semifinals, culminating in the championship final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the men’s first division team will travel to Lincoln on Monday, December 24th, to compete against San Martín (Pehuajó) at 3:00 p.m. on the Social Club field in Junín. Semifinals are scheduled for Sunday, December 7th, also in Lincoln, with the final match taking place on Sunday, December 14th at Club Sarmiento in Junín.

National Stage Beckons at the Regional Club Championship

Adding to the club’s busy schedule, two Under 14 teams are preparing to compete in the Regional Club Championship (CRC), a national competition representing the Buenos Aires Regional. The CRC will be held in Mar del Plata from the 27th to the 30th of this month.

Teams will be divided into eight Zones based on previous year’s classifications within the Association. The Athletic Club’s first and second teams will compete in CRC “A” alongside El Linqueño and Atlético de la del Centro. Additionally, the club will field an Under 14 “B” team in CRC “G”.

This multi-faceted competition schedule demonstrates the Athletic Club’s commitment to developing talent across all age groups and representing the Association of the Center of the Province with distinction on both regional and national levels.
