Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai has decided to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the attack on the governor’s vehicle.
Attack on Governor’s vehicle
The 27th Kurumaka Sannidhanam Srilasree Masilamani National Gnanasampantha Paramasariya Swami of the ancient Dharmapuram Aadeenam in Mayiladuthurai district departed for the Gnanaratha Yatra today. Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi went to Mayiladuthurai to inaugurate the event. Various organizations including the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, the Marxist Communist Party and the Dravidar League staged a black flag protest in Mayiladuthurai against the visit of Governor RN Ravi. Flag poles were thrown at his vehicle when the governor arrived. The police arrested more than 150 in this struggle against the governor.
BJP intensity
The BJP has taken the issue seriously. Commenting on the attack on the Governor’s vehicle, Annamalai said that the responsible Chief Minister Stalin should resign or apologize. Annamalai had also released a video of Chief Minister Stalin saying that there was no attack on the governor’s vehicle. Annamalai had said that the Chief Minister should watch this video. It was also reported that Annamalai had already written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the attack on the governor’s vehicle.
Meeting with Amit Shah
Annamalai has said that he will meet Amit Shah in person and lodge a complaint in this regard. Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Pondicherry on the 24th. Annamalai has decided to meet him that day. He told reporters in Chennai, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to Pondicherry on the 24th. Then, we are going to appeal to the governor in person about the attack on the vehicle. The Union Home Ministry will definitely take action regarding my letter. What the Chief Minister said in the Legislative Assembly about the Governor was eye-opening.
