While the match between El Nacional and Deportivo Cuenca was being played on matchday 5 of the LigaPro, an unfortunate event occurred that caused its suspension when the second half was being played.
The Director of Competitions of the LigaPro (David Constante) confirmed that there was a bomb threat outside the La Cocha stadium in Latacunga, which caused this match to be suspended. In statements to the network that broadcasts Ecuadorian soccer, the manager noted the following:
“There was a bomb threat already located… The National Police has recommended the evacuation of the sports venue. “It could be played this Sunday, at noon, but we want everything to be good for everyone on stage first.”
Pending an official statement, this commitment would be rescheduled for this Sunday, March 24, starting at 12:00.
